The Heart of New Orleans: Mid-City

All the women are pretty in Mid-City but that’s not why it’s my favorite New Orleans neighborhood.  I like Mid-City because it’s the heart of New Orleans.  I don’t have a picture of one of the signs that demarcate the Mid-City neighborhood.  I meant to take one today, but one thing led to another and I went off in another direction.  New Orleans is a city of diversions.  I’m not immune to New Orelans’ many distractions.  I live here so I am more susceptible than a casual visitor.  I’m not on a mission.  I can always come back tomorrow.

In New Orleans, tomorrow is always one better day away from now.  It’s nice here.  Let’s look at a picture of Alyssa, instead:

New Orleans loves you.

All of New Orleans is beautiful and interesting but, for my money, Mid-City beats all the other New Orleans neighborhoods with its downright and down home livability.  Here’s why:

All the ladies are pretty in Mid-City.  No.  Never mind.  I already covered that.

Mid-City is both urban and leafy.  New Orleans is a real city, make no mistake about that.  It doesn’t look like a city, though.  On the street level, from the sidewalk, New Orleans looks and feels like Paradise.  In Mid-City, it’s like Eden, all innocence and harmony.  There are no snakes in Mid-City.  It’s a cross between Ireland and Wakanda.

You would think the most valuable ship in the world would be made of solid gold.  What’s more valuable than gold?  Okay, maybe the most valuable ship in the world would be made of solid platinum. Maybe the most valuable ship in the world could me made of diamonds.

No.

The most valuable ship in the world is friendship.  That’s what Mid-City in New Orleans is made of.  Friendship is what Mid-City in New Orleans is all about.  Just ask this guy:

New Orleans loves you

Saturday, July 28, 2018:. I could tell you a lot of stories about what I encountered today in Mid-City, all of them wonderful.  I’m going to keep this installment short, though.  In a New Orleans state of mind, everything and anything is possible in every good way.  À votre santé.

New Orleans loves you.
